IOW 2005

What an excellent weekend. John and I met up with Steve and Kim at Tolworth.  Bumped into Scott who was making his own way, down.  The Bromley Elite were ½ hour late due to Rob getting a puncture, but apart from a manifold coming off and a problem with an exhaust, we had a relatively trouble free journey!

Met Carmello, Gordon and Scouse Kev at the Mary Rose, and then got the ferry with them, left the rest of SLRSC behind!  Sorry guys!  Saw another SLRSC member John on the boat, together with Linda from the Mysterons, who had fainted that morning, but still managed to get on the ferry, hope you're okay Linda.  Also saw Aces High on the boat, Peter, Jackie, Dave, Tim etc, cheers for the jackets Tim.  Also good to see Martin (aka Doc) in the queue - you were lucky!!

Found the holiday park no problem, waited for everyone else to arrive then hit the bars on the camp. and there was Trifle!

Spent Friday night at the Ice Rink,  Thanks for remembering us Johnny, good show, shame the sound wasn't up to much, had a great head bang though Crazy Helen turned up again, much to the delight to Terry and Geoff, hope you like the photo Helen, and I wasn't in a mood with you, I was just a bit pissed!

Made if for breakfast Saturday morning, where scouse Kev had a cut on his head, he'd fallen over and spent Sat morning in hospital, can't believe they managed to get a taxi!

Saturday, went for a quick ride in the morning to Bembridge, lovely, place, then rushed back to the Ice Rink Car Park, to meet up with Scooter Forums lots, saw Martin again, scootergirl and mum, Spider and a few others who's names I've forgotten.

Then met up with SLRSC and went for a ride around the island, stopping off at a lovely pub with lovely food.  Steve wasn't too happy with the Steak and Badger pie on the menu, being a part-time veggie, but then realised Badger was the local ale!! and lovely it was too.  Took a group photo of us all see below, and special thanks to Carolyn and her mum, for guiding us around the island.

Spent Saturday night outside the King Lud, met Simon, Les and loads others, and then went to the Royal Squadron to dance the night away, in a sauna, - it was sooooo hot.  Saw the guy from Aces High that had the cut down, but couldn't remember his name.  Walked back with Carmello, who decided he needed some chips, as did everyone one else, then walked home.  Woke up both Russels and Kevin, and turned in about 4 am!

Sunday was too bright for a hangover, made it (just) for breakfast.  Spent the morning on Ryde seafront talking to John, Gibbo, Steve etc from Maidenhead, and Mandy, Jenny, Biggles etc from Right Track SC and then went on the ride out.  Heard a rumour that there had been trouble, and the route was now changed, so wasn't as good as last year, but still great fun.  Stopped off to take some photos and ran into Wayne and Faye, photo below, and then saw Dave the Mod, Jo, Ron, Maria etc etc. and then went home.  Maria, I'm still waiting for that photo of Mark!

Heard that Terry's lammy seized on the way home, and Russel hit a post (that wasn't there the night before - yeah yeah)

Anyway thanks to everyone else we met, and all the new friends, also good to see Mick, Gill, Disco Dave, Les

All in all, we had an excellent time, roll on next year!
